Fresh Tips for the Fellas
We know that you have used a shaver in between your woolly eyebrows to get rid of that unibrow or instead that you have snuck into your mom or sisters bathroom to steal her tweezers. We know that sometimes you do an armpit sniff check to see if you need deodorant and that when you don’t think you smell anything, you decided that thats good enough and you smell fine. We also know thats how you separate your clean and dirty laundry. Us girls know a few little secrets about your game, so I am here to give you guys a few tips on having smooth style so you don’t chase her away with your “no-need-to-take-the-extra-second-to-put-on-deodorant-i’ll-spray-cologne-over-it-instead” unique smell. First off, cologne can be a mans best friend. Girls like flowers, right? But have you ever thought about why they love flowers so much? Not only do flowers come in all sorts of pretty colors, but they also smell amazing. It’s a fact that girls love great smells. And if you make sure to put on an extra squirt of cologne before you step out the door for a hot date, you just might have that girl falling for you as soon as you wrap your muscular arms around her and give her a hug, just one deep inhale in and she could be head over heals for you. One of my favorite colognes for men is Chrome by Loris Azzaro. Trust me, a little bit of extra effort can go a long way. Before a girl makes up her mind about whether you are kissable or not, she will most likely, absolutely, examine your lips. Guys, this means if your lips are chapped, if you have bad breath, or have food from dinner earlier stuck in your teeth, a girl probably, definitely wont want to kiss you. So what this means is, you need to buy some chap stick, (yes there are manly kinds) take a breath mint and make sure you floss your teeth. Every detail matters, and so does the kiss at the end of the night. I think many of you would agree with me on this. When it comes to clothing, just be yourself. Never try to impress a girl by trying to be somebody that you are not, girls have a very good sense on wether you are being authentic and genuine or being a fraud. Just make sure you don’t wear high-waters or sandals with socks on a first date. Do something different. Every one goes to the movie theater for their first date but if you really want to steal a girls heart away do something different. For example, take her to your favorite beach right before the sun is setting . Do some investigating before hand and find out what kind of music she likes and her favorite candy or dessert. Load up your ipod with some of her favorite songs and turn them on in the car on the way. Also, when you get to your destination surprise her with her favorite candy or treat. This will show her that you truly care about her and the little things that she enjoys. This will be a date that she will always remember. Forever. Last but definitely not least, be honest. If she’s beautiful, then tell her that she is beautiful. If you love her, then tell her that you love her. And if you don’t, have the respect to let her go. We don’t always expect you to have the best style of clothes or have the best smelling armpits, but what we do expect, is that you put your best effort into loving us even if the shirt your wearing has been dirty for 6 days and you were in a hurry so you just threw it on anyways. -Hannah
I was blown away as a sat in front of the TV watching Amy Winehouse perform “Rehab” on her big winning night on the Grammys in 2008. Between her big hair, killer wardrobe and the passion in her voice, I became an instant fan. A couple years later, I even dressed up as her for Halloween. But just as fast as I had become a fan, she was also gone in an instant. I was heart broken when I heard that such a beautiful women was such stunning talent had been stolen away by something so cruel and harsh. Addictions seem as though they shadow over like a dark heavy cloud and which eventually pour down rain so hard that a soul can be rolled away by the storm. Though she is gone, her music will live on along with her story. My thoughts and prayers go out to the Winehouse family. RIP Amy Winehouse may your music live on forever.
Last night alexander and i decided to go out on the town for dinner. we drove all around seattle looking for a place to go and just enjoying the drive and the conversation that came with it. we really wanted to find this place in ballard that we had driven by before but we just didn’t know exactly where is was. finally, we got on yelp and found some directions for a new restaurant in ballard we agreed on going to and coincidentally the directions took us right to the place we had hoped to be going to in the first place that night in ballard! it worked out perfectly. we ended up at a little place called jhanay vegetarian thai house. it was delicious. i ordered pad thai and alexander got a spicy eggplant dish. but first we started off with the cream cheese wontons and tom yum soup. we both wanted to get a little dessert after also so i told alexander to surprise me. i excused myself to the restroom while he ordered so i wouldn’t know what to expect. he ended up making a wonderful choice and got the tempura green tea ice cream with raspberry red wine sauce and whipped cream. after our dinner, we decided to take a little walk around all the shops. We ended up going right into a kitchen shop. that is where i found the most amazing thing. Chef Fido….. to be continued.
Waking up at 6:00am and having to be in beauty make-up is not the easiest thing to do so early in the morning. As soon as I woke up, I was wishing that I could put caffeine in my eyeballs. Thankfully, I already gotten my outfit ready in the previous days before, so I got decked out in my Betsey Johnson wardrobe (big shout out to the girls at Seattle Betsey for dressing me!!) and headed out the door (With my mommager of course (;) Off to Seattle we went. Everyone at the King5 Studio was so extremely nice! I had such a great time on set and got to meet some really awesome people such as Ciscoe & the host Margaret Larson. After my performance and my interview, I was escorted over to the audience to meet everyone and answer any questions that they had. It was so great to get to interact with them! They were such a great audience. And I was so excited that I got to send them all home with copies of my new album! I had such an amazing experience, and I am so excited for the things to come. Thank you so much to all of my fans who tuned in to watch and who watched online! I wouldn’t be where I am at with out all of you, so thank you so much. and thank you SO much to New Day NW for having me on the show. (:
it’s funny how fast i caught my self turning into a little girl again.
as i walked out my front door, i noticed my cat skippy laying on the ground with a little bunny beside her. immediately i scared skip away and tended to the little bun. it was still alive and breathing, it’s fur felt warm and i didn’t see any major injuries. my dad was outside so in my high pitched girlie voice i yelled “daddy! i have a bunnie! can i pick it up?” he yelled back yes so i grabbed the little guy and took him down to the garage to get a crate or box to put the bunny in. bunny decided to try an jump out of my hand and he fell on the floor so i scooped him back up and found a wire metal crate.
i grabbed a couple of old blue shirts and put them in the bottom of the crate where i proceeded to place bunny. i took the crate with bunny in it and ran it up to the house to show my mom. i walked inside and said “mommy! I got a bunny!” i heard her giggle as if it was no surprise that her daughter, still so young at heart, would have a rescue bunny. momma took a look at the bunny and we decided i should probably take it to the woods edge and see if it’d hop away.
but, it didn’t. so i carried it back up to the house and asked if i could keep it in my room. (more like said thats where it was staying on vacation for a little while.) so i took bunny up the stairs into my room where i sat the crate on my desk, opened the window so bunny could see out and have fresh air, and i folded my yoga mat in half and placed it on top of the crate so bunny couldn’t hop out and get lost in the house. i am hoping bunny recovers by tonight and that he will be hopping in no time so i can let him out into the woods tonight… cause momma said bunny can’t sleep with me and moo.
today has started off quick! i have a long list of things to do before tomorrow rolls around. i have been working all morning with my mom (manager= mommager) on the upcoming press releases details and other music business things. also, tonight we have lots a baking to do for the baby shower tomorrow, which i am very excited for. i am just about to head off to the gym to meet with my personal trainer for a work out! i’m sure my butt will get kicked (: after that, i will be running errands, cleaning, baking, and decorating! and of course, trying to find something to wear for tomorrow. anyways, i’m sure today will have it’s ups and downs and funny moments so i will post back later for an update on how the crazy day goes!

last weekend i was honored to be invited to perform as a special guest at a writers round in bend, oregon. for those of you who don’t know what a writers round is, let me try to explain. a writers round consists of a group of song writers who all come together on the same stage at the same time. each of the writers play one song and then they do another round and all play another song. this goes on for a two hour long show (time varies depending on the show).
my producer tim johnson was in the round playing along with clay mills and james dean hicks. tim johnson has written many hits, such as, things that never cross a mans mind - kellie pickler and so do you believe me now- jimmy wayne just to name a few. clay mills has written hits like, history in the making- darius rucker, beautiful mess- diamond rio, and i got nothin’- darius rucker. james dean hicks has written such as, goodbye time- black shelton and it takes a little rain- the oak ridge boys and many more.
as you can see, these song writers have had major success and for me to be invited on stage by them was a huge honor and a dream come true in my book.
so my mom, dad, alexander (boyfriend) and i all headed to bend oregon to maragas winery. a couple of pit stops and a 7 hour drive later we made it to beautiful bend. when we looked out our hotel window in the morning, we were surrounded by gorgeous mountains. it was breathtaking. we ate at a little place in town for breakfast and then got ready to go. it was about 80 degrees so as you can see in photo, i was in shorts and a tank top. there were about 150-200 people at the show and it was a great time!
i sang, i broke up with you first and you just want me while tim accompanied me on guitar. i cannot even explain what a special and amazing experience it is to watch and hear the song writers of #1 hit songs just play the songs on their guitar and sing them. i have been to many writers round but being a part of one was very fun. “it all starts with a song.”

my current personal project that i am working on right now is throwing a baby shower for my cousin. i have never planned a shower before and have only been to a few, so this was almost brand new to me! after researching themes, ordering invitations, and planning a menu, it is only two days away! I am so very excited. I am keeping the entire shower theme and events a secret from the mother-to-be. (: i cannot wait to see the results of the shower! i will be posting photos and a blog with details of the shower.

hmm. being bored sometimes drives you to do new things. So here i am on tumblr! I have no idea how to work/use it but i am very excited to figure it out because i love to try and do new things! i will be posting things about my life, including my dogs, boyfriend alexander, my music, hobbies such as cooking & making a mess of the kitchen; my fam and just plain ole’ fun & interesting things that go on in my life. sounds fun, right?
